Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist

My interest in perusing a career in Speech and Language Therapy came about as I believe that everybody holds the right to express themselves by any means, whether that be verbally, through multiple languages, through alternative communication devices, or through Signed Language.

I believe that everybody has a purpose in life, and everyone should be able to involve and integrate themselves into society - something communicating helps us do! I find fulfilment in the fact that as a Speech and Language Therapist, I can work together with children and their families to achieve personal outcomes and reach goals they may not believe they are capable of!

My favourite word is “Synchronicity” - the occurrence of meaningful coincidences that seem to have no cause. It suggests that nothing happens without reason- both good and bad. It shows how the paths we walk and people we meet along the way guide direction in our lives, and these directions can sometimes be avenues we didn't know we wanted to take!

A society grows great when old men plant trees, the shade of which they know they will never sit in.
