Speech and Language Therapist
I choose Speech and Language Therapy because I have always been passionate about supporting others, particularly children and young people. This has led me to seek experiences in volunteering, teaching and childcare.
After having Speech and Language Therapy myself as a child, I rediscovered the profession following my undergraduate degree in English and French. A career which combined my love for languages and linguistics with my passionate for helping others felt like the perfect fit!
My favourite part about being a SaLT is the working relationships I am able to form with the children and families that I work with. I believe that therapy should always be positive and fun, supporting the child and their family to communicate in whatever ways best meet their needs. Each child is so unique, and so I aim to always take an individualised approach - ensuring I understand each child's opinions, strengths and interests!
My favourite word is: 'Idyllic', because even the word makes me feel calm! I love the way the word sounds and the images it creates of something really peaceful and picturesque.
