Speech and Language Therapist

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is being able to support children and young people to reach their potential. As a Speech and Language Therapist, I am passionate about delivering meaningful therapy that has a positive impact on wellbeing and quality of life, whilst creating an encouraging space for children to develop and to express themselves.

My favourite words generally link to emotions because of how we can relate to them directly. For instance, I like the words  “content” and “blissful” as they evoke feelings of peace and relaxation. However, I also love how playful language can be. I enjoy whimsical words such as ‘splendiferous’ and “scrumdiddlyumptious” which describe wonderful and brilliant things. Children’s books are great at opening our eyes to new ways to play with words. Language is always adapting and there is no single way to communicate or expressive ourselves!
